Three new veterinary related bills have been or expected to signed into law by Governor Inslee.
- The HEAL-WA bill grants veterinarians and LVTs electronic access to numerous journals and other sources of information. The Department of Health will determine the increase in the licensing fees.
- The non-compete legislation passed both houses and moved to the Governor's desk. He is expected to sign it in the near future. It only applies to certain types of employees (such as Associate Veterinarians). The salary threshold is $100,000.
- The legislation which expands the veterinary services that humane societies and animal control agencies can perform for low-income owners was signed into law by the Governor.
