Amber’s love for animal agriculture started at a young age growing up on her family’s dairy farm in Pennsylvania. After leaving the farm, she earned her undergraduate degree at the Pennsylvania State University, her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and later went on to earn a master’s degree in animal welfare from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining WSDA as field veterinarian, she enjoyed 10 years in large animal practice. Dr. Amber Itle currently serves as your Washington State Veterinarian where she oversees the animal health and animal disease traceability programs in the Department of Agriculture
