April 13, 2023 Thursday, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Rachel Wright
MSW, LICSW, VSW-CP
My name is Rachel, and I am the owner of Paws to Connect Counseling, LLC. I focus on the intersection of mental health and the human-animal bond as a part of therapy. I am passionate about the beauty of the human-animal bond and have been gifted to spend my life with such precious animal companions, professionally and personally, who have been profound teachers. I understand the importance of the interconnectedness between humans, animals, nature and the therapeutic value between these relationships. I will honor and support your unique connection with the human-animal bond and how that impacts and enriches your mental health, therapeutic process, and healing at every level. Rachel will be joined by and art therapy students, Gwen Kempe, and Kirsten Laurel.

Empowered Boundary-Setting The word Boundaries has become a buzz word often heard in the veterinary industry. As an experienced veterinary social worker, I work with veterinary professionals every day to empower them to identify, evaluate, and reset their professional and personal boundaries. Setting (and sticking to!) healthy boundaries is not optional, it is essential. The cost of not having healthy boundaries includes resentment, low self-worth, burnout, anxiety, and depression. In this presentation, we will discuss types of boundaries, challenges and obstacles, evaluate our boundaries baseline, and put into practice the steps and tools required to create action. Attendees will also have an opportunity to engage in a brief, fun, reflective, art activity to help them visualize the boundary changes they would like to make. (Please have paper and writing utensils on hand!). |
